Australia's First New MINI
The R50 series was the first generation of the ‘new’ MINI. It saw the successful introduction of MINI to the Australian market in 2002.

Cooper (R50)
Arriving first, the Cooper led the introduction of MINI into Australia from March 2, 2002.

Cabrio (R52)
The Cabrio was last to join the range, arriving in Australia in 2005 as both Cooper and Cooper S.
About
Australian R50 has been created to help promote and generate awareness of the R50 generation of MINI and its significance, working to encourage the preservation of these cars.
MINI has been in Australia for two decades, and the number of early cars is now rapidly declining as they reach twenty years old.

Registers
A number of vehicle registers have been created to promote awareness of certain groups of cars with special significance.
Registers are currently maintained for cars made in the first year of production and for the first dealer cars of each series.
